Research Interests
My scientific career is focused on evolutionary genetics, spanning from ancient divergences to contemporary population genetics. Research studies on the evolutionary genetics of invertebrates, particularly arthropods, bioinformatics and bacterial genomics
(see CV below).
BIOdiversity PAtterns of Crustacea from Karstic Systems (ICBIBE, Spain)
Currently developing the BIOPACKS research project as a “CIDEGENT” Fellow. The BIOPACKS project is focused on the study of the underground aquatic fauna of the Valencian Community to provide novel information, incorporate new molecular methods into the field and discover new enzymes with potential biotechnological application.
Institut Sophia Agrobiotech (ISA, France)
Working as a COLBICS Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Institute Sophia Agrobiotech (ISA-INRA) under the FP7-PEOPLE-2012-IAPP program, using DNA barcoding and NGS methods for characterizing arthropods and associated bacteria relevant for Biological Control.
Molecular epidemiology (CSISP, Spain)
Research projects as a “Juan de la Cierva” Fellow have focused on the population genomics of pathogenic bacteria and phylogenetics of virus. In parallel with these projects, I have published on Crustacean genetics and DNA barcoding.
Mathematical Genetics (IST, Austria)
Post-Doctoral Research Associate at Nick Barton’s Group. I used mathematical modelling approaches such as systems of differential equations to make inferences on demography and selection in hybrid zones.
